A mobile rogue trader has been operating in the area of the Gainsborough Road Estate. Although I have heard it mentioned in Appleton as well. 

They claimed to be from the Council and cutting trees or hedges, and will have spotted ‘something’, which they will offer to correct or do remedial work for.

Sometimes this is accompanied with an urgency, that it is dangerous, or could effect your neighbours property etc.

Even if they have actually given you a verbal quote or scrawled on a piece of paper, and it appears a reasonable price they will often claim that it took more work and ask for more.

Report any suspicious activity with registrations of vehicles used on 101 or Tell us something you've seen or heard | Cheshire Constabulary
