Halloween Ready at The Lighthouse Café! It was lovely to see such great community engagement at The Lighthouse Café today! Our Halloween trick-or-treat window posters are now available for customers to take — perfect for letting little ghouls and goblins know if you're welcoming trick-or-treaters this year! More posters are available at The Lighthouse Church Hall for anyone who’d like to collect one. Alternatively, I’m more than happy to hand-deliver a copy to you — just drop me an email at Michelle.Gillett@cheshire.police.uk Let’s keep Halloween fun, safe, and spooky for everyone! ASB Awareness with Year 6 – Fantastic Learning in Action! Following last week's KS2 Crime and Consequences presentation, Weaverham Primary Academy Year 6 pupils demonstrated their understanding by confidently reacting to key definitions and scenarios: Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Swearing in public – recognised as a Public Order offence Throwing eggs or flour at property – identified as vandalism and potentially criminal damage Using multi-choice voting cards, pupils explored:
What constitutes ASB The age of criminal responsibility Whether swearing in public is a crime How damaging others’ property can be a criminal offence
Well done Year 6! Your thoughtful responses and enthusiasm show how much you've learned. Keep using your moral compass to make positive choices!
Spooktacular Fun at Cuddington Primary! KS2 children at Cuddington Primary School took part in an interactive Halloween session using voting cards. Through spooky scenarios and thoughtful choices, pupils demonstrated a strong moral compass while engaging with the session in a fun and meaningful way! Well done to all!!!
Halloween Safety at Weaverham Forest Street School I have visited Key Stage 2 pupils for a fun and thoughtful Halloween presentation! We talked about: What it means to be respectful and kind Using your moral compass to make good choices How to stay safe while out trick-or-treating Children worked in teams and voted on different scenarios — their impeccable manners were a real credit to the school! Well done everyone! And remember… Stay safe Be kind Respect others while out enjoying Halloween night! Remembrance Walk to Community Memorial Orchard
Weekly Round-Up: Parking Patrols & Progress. Following our Week of Action, I carried out parking patrols at the start of this week to tackle ongoing concerns around school drop-offs and junction safety. Today, I was joined by Special Inspector Cross Start of Week Observations:
Vehicles were parked within 10 metres of junctions, reducing visibility and safety. Drop-off bays were blocked by stationary vehicles, causing congestion.
End of Week Improvements:
Junctions were clear, improving sightlines and pedestrian safety. Drop-off areas were used more appropriately, allowing smoother transitions for pupils. Community Engagement: I’ve liaised with school and local parish clerk to request yellow lines at the junction exit and repainting of the no entry area. This proposal will be raised at the next community meeting.
Thank you to all parents and children for your positive engagement and support in keeping our roads safe!
Today, SI Cross, PC Ward, and I had the honour of joining Weaverham High School pupils for a special ecumenical service at the Community Memorial Orchard, led by local schools including St Bedes Catholic Primary and Weaverham Primary Academy. Together, we marked 80 years since the end of World War II, reflecting on the sacrifices made and the importance of peace, unity, and remembrance. The pupils showed great respect and maturity throughout — a proud moment for our community. Thank you to Weaverham High School for providing transport to and from the service. The service was led by Rev Mike Smith, with a blessing from Sister Phyllis, adding depth and meaning to the occasion. A beautiful tribute in a meaningful setting. LestWeForget #WeWillRememberThem
Special Inspector Cross and I joined forces with WVHT Neighbourhood Housing Officers to carry out a Street a Week initiative on Walnut Avenue. We spoke with residents to better understand recent community concerns and offer support. If you’d like your street to be part of this initiative, please email me at Michelle.Gillett@cheshire.police.uk alternatively, complete our Resident Voice Survey using the link below https://www.cheshire.police.uk/police-forces/cheshire-constabulary/areas/cheshire/campaigns/northwich/residents-voice/ PCSO Michelle | ||
