Theft and Attempted Theft of cars and motorcycles

We have recently seen a spike in Theft and Attempted Theft of cars and motorcycles in Widnes.  In the last two days we had reports of these crimes across Widnes at Cameron Road, Saxon Terrace, Halegate Road and Ditchfield Road. We would like to remind all vehicle and motorbike owners to ensure as much security is in place as possible, including such measures as necessary including, but not limited to, chains and locks, working C.C.T.V, placing other obstructions in front of the secured items, security lighting, keeping keys seperate and out of sight and, if applicable using faraday pouches to reduce signals being transmitted when not in use and more beside.  Please review the attached photos which give more suggestions and, should you see or hear anything suspicious, especially during the hours of dakness, please call 999 at the earliest opportunity so we can check out what may be happening.  If you have called us in good faith and the incident was nothing to worry about this is good news.  Do not assume others will make that call.
