Cyber safety

Good afternoon.

On 05/02 I had the pleasure of accompanying DC Andrew Kevan from the Cyber Crime Team whilst he presented talks to the students about the dangers of smart phones and social media apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Tik Tok and many more.

Andy pointed out to the children that it is important to remember that these ‘phones’ are actually computers with a phone application built into them and anything you do can leave a digital footprint.

Andy's lesson was very interesting and there were certainly things in there that even I as an adult was not aware of. One of the things he pointed out to me is that the apps change so often that he has to update his presentation every three months to keep up with the forever changing scams and criminals.
