Week 18 Newsletter – Weaver & Cuddington Beat
Cuddington Youth Club
I attended Cuddington Youth Club this week, where local MP Aphra Brandreth kindly popped in to say hello. It was great to see so many young people in attendance, enjoying the free facilities and some well‑earned hot toast. A huge thank you to the volunteers who give up their time to make evenings like this possible — your support really does make a difference. You said, we did
This week, a Roads Policing motorcyclist joined the Weaver & Cuddington Beat Team to help tackle the road safety concerns raised through resident voice surveys Concerns included: 7.5‑tonne restrictions
Speed enforcement took place at: A Fixed Penalty Notice was issued for parking on white zig‑zag lines on Lime Avenue, Weaverham. Vehicles and motorbikes were stopped during the operation. The highest recorded speed was 50mph in a 40mph limit, with a fixed penalty issued at the roadside.
Hazel Drive was also patrolled following several reports of a young child riding a quad bike on footpaths. A very special Sunday
While attending my final working Sunday before leaving the force at the end of this month, I had the privilege of attending St Mary’s Church service today.
I am honestly lost for words. The St Mary’s faith community surprised me with a beautiful cake, flowers and a card filled with heartfelt, personal messages. Such a thoughtful and emotional gesture that I will never forget.
Thank you all so much for your kind messages, support and generosity — it truly means the world to me. Special thanks to CWAC Cllr Edwards for arranging this. Community Update – Moss Lane, Cuddington
Following a concern raised about someone potentially living in the wooded area off Moss Lane, I carried out patrols and can reassure residents that this is not the case.
Some discarded items were located, including general rubbish, children’s toys and a school blazer.
Thank you, as always, for looking out for one another and reporting concerns. Street a Week – Poplar Close
I carried out a Street a Week in the Poplar Close area following concerns about youths causing a nuisance on Friday evenings. Information suggests the youths involved are around 14 years old and may be travelling by train from Greenbank Station to Cuddington, where they are believed to be meeting within the community.
Local licensed premises have been visited and reminded of Challenge 25, to help prevent underage alcohol sales in Cuddington. British Transport Police will be made aware, as the youths are believed to be travelling by train and may be jumping train fares. I will also be sharing this information with local high schools to help identify and safeguard any young people involved.
Patrols will continue, with stop searches planned where grounds exist, to deter further anti‑social behaviour and provide reassurance to residents.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with me and share information — your support really does make a difference. If you have any concerns or information, please contact me at: Michelle.Gillett@cheshire.police.uk PCSO Michelle
