Dear Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator,

Did you see the recent Cheshire Alert message from your Crime Prevention Officer?

We are trying to provide people with information to help protect themselves from becoming a victim of cycle theft. 

Bike theft only takes seconds — but the right security can make all the difference.
 

🔐 Use TWO locks:
• A Sold Secure Gold/Diamond D‑lock
• Plus a heavy-duty chain or folding lock

🛑 Lock the frame AND both wheels
Keep locks tight and off the ground.

📍 Choose safer parking
Busy, well‑lit areas with CCTV or natural surveillance.

🏠 Secure it at home too
Use ground anchors, alarms, and keep bikes out of sight.

🆔 Record & register your bike
Add details and photos to BikeRegister to improve recovery chances.

📱 Consider a tracker
Hidden GPS or AirTag/Tile devices help locate stolen bikes.

🛒 Buying second‑hand?
Check the frame number and use BikeRegister to make sure it’s not stolen.

Keeping your bike secure protects your investment — and helps reduce cycle crime across our communities.
