Cycle security advice

Dear resident

Cheshire Police often hold FREE bike marking events in the area where you an get your bike registered as belonging to you on a data base that allows officers to scan the bike if found and then return it to the owner. This is very effective in crime prevention of the theft of bikes.

The events are advertised on Cheshire Alerts and also our social media pages. If you have a bike, please attend one of these events to get your bike registered with Bike Register.

Make sure your bike is insured.

Consider investing in a D-Lock. These are very difficult to saw through. Also make sure you have locks that attache your wheels to the frame and where ever you have left your bike.

Try to leave your bike in a safe place that is covered by CCTV.

If your bike is stored at home, keep it locked up and out of sight.

If your bike is stolen, contact us as soon as possible on 101.

Please please make sure your bike has lights when out at night.
