Fly Tipping Rural Macclesfield

Alert message sent 06/12/2017 08:43:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

We have had periodically reported incidents of fly tipping in the Rainow, Saltersford areas of Macclesfield and just over the border into the Goyt Valley. Evidence suggests the waste is coming from outside the county. I'm requesting for you to be observant for any suspected waste type vehicle or similar in unusual rural locations and report this to myself.

Top tips to prevent fly-tipping are to ask where rubbish is being taken, ask for a receipt on headed paper, get an estimate on headed paper giving details of waste disposal and check the trader has a valid waste carriers licence.

This can be checked at www.environment-agency.gov.uk or call the Environment Agency on 03708 506 506.

Thank you

Macclesfield Police Station.
